Historic Roof Restoration – Bordner’s Cabin, Swatara State Park
Bordner’s Cabin, built in 1939, is a historic structure located in nearby Swatara State Park. When a tree fell onto the roof and severe deterioration was discovered, the building required structural repair and full roof replacement.
This project was especially meaningful to our family. We have hiked and biked to Bordner’s Cabin many times and felt honored to be selected to help restore it.
We worked closely with GAF, who generously donated much of the roofing material for the project. Werner Lumber Co. also supported the effort by delivering materials at no charge. We completed the restoration using:
