What does siding look like at 32 years old?

It looks like it’s ready for an update!

Bob and Karen’s siding was showing signs of wear and tear: color deterioration, pull away, and unevenness from the many storms it weathered. They knew they needed to replace their exterior before weather damage came inside.

This beautiful Tudor home has a mixed materials exterior: a brick and stucco facade, and vinyl siding wrapped around the sides and back. The strong geometry of Tudor homes is unmistakable, and we wanted a siding that worked with- rather than against- their home’s architecture.

Vern recommended Quest Dutchlap vinyl siding. This horizontal siding has a bit more depth in its construction and blends well with beautiful, old-world materials like Bob and Karen’s stately brick and stucco work.

Another bonus: It’s tornado-tough and holds up well in rough Pennsylvania weather. This means they’ll be enjoying their beautiful new exterior, maintenance free, for decades to come.

Here’s what their home looked like before the install:

You can see how the grey siding was loosing its color dynamic. But even more critical? Weak points had begun to develop around the home. Here’s an example of how, after 3+ decades of wear, their existing siding had begun to pull away from their exterior.

Here you can see the coloration difference, and denting from years of storm damage:

The best part for us? Seeing the beauty of a gorgeous home brought back to its original style.

The warm, cappuccino colored siding brought a cohesiveness to their home’s design. Blending both into their existing exterior materials and also to the wooded charm of their landscaping. We love the color of this siding and how it brings to mind craftsman-style cedar wood planking.

Here are a few images to give you a 360 look at their home’s new look:

Bring on the snow days! This cream and cocoa beauty is ready to cozy up this winter.

“We love our new siding! Our 32 yr. old siding looked very shabby and now we are house proud once again! We’re so glad that we got Martin Carpentry to do the job!” says Karen.

Many thanks to you both- this home was a real lovely one.
